Chair Ips

The chair Ips embodies a postmodern approach, bringing emotional details to the silhouette of a basic office chair. It fulfils the timeless values of versatility and functionality, while incorporating a modern aesthetic. Experimentation with production processes, as well as experience in the choice of materials and their authorised finishes, has resulted in an exemplary combination of tradition and innovation.

The back and seat of the chair are made of a single piece of plywood with a lintel "neck". It got its name because of its resemblance to the funny shape of a bark beetle: a broad head and a rectangular body with two tendrils. The thin steel frame emphasises the striking image, creating a spectacular outline, especially in profile. Despite its lightweight appearance, the Ips chair is characterised by its strength, giving it a special stability for many years to come.
