The Ips chair embodies a post-modern approach, bringing emotional detail to the silhouette of a basic office chair. It responds to timeless values: versatility and functionality, while incorporating modern aesthetics. As a result of experiments with production processes, as well as accumulated experience in the selection of materials and their original finishing, it was possible to create an exemplary combination of tradition and innovation.
The back and seat of the chair are made of a single piece of plywood with a “neck” jumper. It gets its name from its similarity in shape to the curious shape of the bark beetle: a broad head and a rectangular body with two antennae. The slim steel frame accentuates the striking look, creating a dramatic outline, especially in profile. Despite its lightweight appearance, the Ips chair is characterized by strength, giving it special stability for many years.
