KUBIS lamp collection
The KUBIS collection is our attempt at shaping from the position of searching for a new reality. Combining the latest art direction of graphic design with the basic elements of the visual philosophy of Suprematism of the early 20th century: the quadrangle, the cross and the circle. We tried to transfer the characteristic features of the two styles from a two-dimensional plane, integrating them into each other, and creating an abstract image in three-dimensional reality. Kazimir Malevich’s painting “Suprematist Composition” of 1916 was chosen as a representative of Suprematism, thus creating a design as the result of a collaboration of two phenomena with a difference of 100 years. KUBIS is an image devoid of any content, which can neither be filled with meaning nor thrown out of one’s head.
